Grading and Assignments in this course are divided into three types: Student engagement, multi step research project, and assessment of course material knowledge.

Student Engagement (20%)
Student engagement in our course takes different forms depending on how you are accessing it.
- For online students, your engagement will take place on our course chatboard in your group channels.
- For in person students, your engagement will take place during class time.

Research Project (60%)
There are three steps to this project:
- Part One: Primary and Secondary Source Analysis Due May 12th
- Part Two: Proposal Due May 23rd
- Part Three: Final Project Due June 14th

Assessment of Course Material (20%)
Students have three options for this aspect of course assessment:
- Weekly quizzes (posted each Friday; due one week later)
- Two short essays (Due May 24th and June 10th)
- Final exam during the UNBC exam period. The exam will be posted on the date/time that our exam is scheduled and you will have 48 hours to complete it.
