A key part of this course is exploring primary source documents (i.e. historical documents from the time period and place we are studying) and secondary source articles by academic historians as a means of understanding the history of women and gender in medieval Europe. We will also be listening to 4 podcast episodes over the semester. The analysis and exploration of these sources will be done through group discussion either in the classroom or on the chatboard.

Students can CHOOSE which method of engagement that works for their schedule. If you’d like to attend some classes in person and do others asynchronously online, that’s okay! If you need to do everything asynchronously or want to attend all in person classes, it’s your choice!

I will divide the entire class into groups on the chatboard but you only need to participate in those threads if you DO NOT attend the in person sessions.

I’m not quite done with this page yet so check back for more details!
